How Does Shockwave Therapy™ Work?
Shockwave Therapy™ increases blood circulation and initiates metabolic activity, causing an inflammatory response that promotes and stimulates healing. This added circulation will promote tissue healing in the injured site and help in resolving the pain.
Shockwave is an acoustic wave that carries high amounts of energy to painful areas and myoskeletal tissues. It helps mend subacute, subchronic, and chronic conditions. The high energy promotes regeneration and reparative processes of the bones, tendons, and other soft tissues found in the body. Shockwaves are characterized by a jump in pressure. The kinetic energy of the projected stimulation, created by compressed air, first makes its way to a transmitter found at the end of the applicator in use and then into the tissue itself.
